During the last years, the alternative for Laser treatment has been growing in demand and popularity.
The Pulsed Light with no undesirable second effects is used both for hair removal as well as for a skin care treatment known as the photorejuvenation.
Melanine (the enzyme that gives the hair its color) attracts the light produced in the epilation treatment. The light travels throught the skin and strikes at the matrix of the hair where the production of melanine is the highest. As the light is converted to heat energy, the matrix is damaged, making it harder and slower to regrow hair.
The duration of the whole treatment depends entirely on the invidual, on the zone and on the hair's growth and thickness. The organization of the treatments depends on the hair's growth cycle. For best results, the treatment should be done when the hair is still in growth (so that the hair can conduct the light directly to the matrix). As the treatments continue, the hair growth is slowed down and the hair is thinner.
In general, from 10 up to 12 treatment sessions are needed. For the face, 10 days is normally enough inbetween sessions and for the rest of the body, one should wait from 4 to 6 weeks.
All that said, it is impossible to determine directly the duration of the full treatment as different factors need to be taken in consideration; the skin tone, age, hair color etc.
Once the wanted results have been obtained, it is recommended to remove the few lasting hairs with the help of Electolysis.
