Hygiene and security are key elements in make-up tattooing and we here at Pyrène are extremely serious when it comes to that. An anestesiac cream is applied some 10 minutes before the session to reduce the pain, the needles used are sterile and disposable and the gloves and material are changed inbetween clients.
It is required to make 2 to 3 passages on the same zone for the color to take. The tattooed zone is then gently wiped clean and cool compresses are placed to calm the zone.

For how long does the color stay visible?
Depending on the intensity of the color it can last from 3 to 5 years. It is to be noted that more natural the color, the faster it fades away. For exemple for light colored lips the pigmentation will be visible for 2 years as to a black eyeliner that can last for over 6 years.
Are there any risks of contamination ?
None, all the materiel that comes in contact with your skin is of one use only and disposed of after each session.
Can there be risks of allergies ?
All the risks are highly reduced due to the use of colors that are essentially made with pigments of mineral and natural origins. These pigments enter in the regulations of NNE (Nouvelles Normes Europeennes : The New European Standards) and being french made are object to regular controls of quality. For clients that are allergic to certain minerals we propose to do a small test of sensibility.
Are there any contraindications ?
None, a part for the lips. If you are prone to herpes, the tattooing process can provoke an outburst. You will need to ask your doctor for a medical treatment to prevent the outburst.
Is it painful ?
A certain amount of pain can be felt during the first tracing of the line. The anesthetic cream applied after helps reduce the feeling pain. A local anesthesia can be performed by a qualified doctor. One can be found behind the door just next to Institut Pyrène.
How many sessions are needed ?
One session is needed to choose the color and the form and the actual pigmentation. However, it is always recommended to return for a touch-up - free of charge given that it takes place during the month that follows, to obtain the perfect result that lasts longer.
Is a retouching possible after a few years ?
Yes and it is highly recommended. It is done in one session and it assures a longer and more intense hold.
Can a scar be colored ?
Yes it can be possible. It is needed to precise that the scar will not disappear, it will just be camouflaged under the pigmentation of your skin color. The beautician will respond to any of your questions regarding scar camouflaging, since the techniques varie depending on the zone. For example for the hair line (scarring from accidents, liftings, vitiligo..) just tattooing small points and lines is needed.
The morning that follows the tattooing session, small scab like formations of crystallised pigments will appear on the surface of the skin and will fall off within a week. These "scabs" are not to be scratched nor removed.
As heat accelerates the color fading, it is important not to expose to UV rays, real or artificial, during the first 10 days. Hot showers, baths, swimming pools and salt water should be avoided during a week.
For the lips, avoid make-up and apply a point of homeoplasmine twice a day.
For the eyes and lips, make-up and make-up removing lotions or milks or creams of any kind are not to be used. Clean them gently with cold water and coton pads.
For make-up tattooing, a reservation fee of 50€ is demanded.
